Youth Programs

Lowline cattle are an ideal fit for youth programs because of their calm temperament, manageable size, and predictable behaviour, giving young handlers a safe and confidence-building experience. Their docile nature makes them easier to halter-break, show, and care for, helping kids focus on learning proper livestock skills rather than struggling with difficult cattle. Lowline calves are naturally small at birth and grow steadily, making them well-suited for junior projects where participants track development, feeding, and conditioning. Many 4-H and youth exhibitors appreciate that Lowlines require less feed, lighter equipment, and lower overall maintenance while still presenting a high-quality, competitive show animal. By engaging with Lowline programs, young people gain hands-on knowledge in herd management, animal care, and responsible agriculture—skills that prepare them for future success in the cattle industry.
